In a nine-month study University of Jyvaskyla researchers found that resistance training workouts can increase the overall enjoyment from exercise. In other words - the process of exercise can increase your appreciation and affinity to exercise.
During the study, nearly half of the participants experienced increased motivation to workout and reported exercising consistently 1-2 times per week up to two years later. The desire to exercise begets the desire to exercise.
